Boamah floors Baba Sadiq after re-collation
Patrick Yaw Boamah, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate, has retained the Okaikwei Central seat in the 2024 elections following a re-collation exercise.
This nullifies the earlier result which projected the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Baba Sadiq, as the winner.
At the recollation today, Boamah secured 21,099 votes, while Sadiq garnered 19,368 of the total votes cast.
In his victory speech, Boamah expressed his gratitude to his constituents for their continued trust and support.
He pledged to persist in advancing development projects and advocating for the community’s needs in Parliament.
“In elections, to compete is part of democracy. To lose is part of democracy and to win is also a part of democracy.
“So, let me congratulate my competitor, the NDC, and also use the opportunity to thank the teaming supporters of the NPP in Okaikwei Central and the national party.
“We fought a good fight and waged a very good campaign and God has been so good to us and for giving us victory,” he stated.
