Upper West Regional FA Cup set to kick off with 29 clubs
The Upper West Regional Football Association (UWRFA) will launch its first-ever Regional FA Cup competition from December 26 to 28, 2024, featuring all 29 Division Two clubs in the region.
This tournament is expected to be a thrilling display of grassroots football, with teams vying for glory and a coveted spot in next season’s National MTN FA Cup.
To enhance fan engagement, the clubs have been grouped according to their league zones, ensuring vibrant atmospheres across match venues. The competition will see 15 games played at three key locations: Tumu Astroturf will host four matches, MaCoy Astroturf in Nadowli will stage three, and the remaining fixtures will take place at the Wa Sports Stadium.
Fans can anticipate high-stakes clashes, including Wa Suntaa SC, former Access Bank Division One campaigners, facing Sombo Freedom Stars at the Wa Sports Stadium. Over in Nadowli, TF Exponential FC will battle Super Upper Stars in a highly anticipated encounter. At Tumu, Kulfuo Dreams FC will square off against Real 24 Hours, while Eva Stars take on Malima FC.
