Former Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu announces break from coaching
Former Samartex coach Nurudeen Amadu says he has taken a short break from coaching to address health issues.
The veteran Ghanaian trainer, who joined the Timber Giants in July 2023 left the club on mutual grounds after 13 matches into the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Amadu masterminded for the clubs historic Ghana Premier League success last season.
Speaking in an interview, Amadu disclosed he has taken a break from coaching to address pressing issues.
“I have a taken a break from coaching. I still have health issues that needs to be addressed. I have to be with my family at the North and get back to business later” he said.
Meanwhile, Samartex in the haunt of a new tactician following the departure of Nurudeen Amadu.
Reports emanating suggested that former Great Olympics and Karela United coach Bismark Kobi Mensah in the lead for the vacant Samartex coaching job.
Samartex have not been impressive this season, winning four games, drawing five and losing four games after 13 matches into the campaign.
They have recorded three consecutive defeats in the top-flight and are also out of the FA Cup after a 2-0 defeat to rivals Bibiani Goldstars SC.
With 17 points, the Timber Giants find themselves in the 10th position on the Ghana Premier League standings.
Samartex will travel to face Bechem United in matchday 14of the Ghana Premier League. Assistant coach Henry Wellington will take charge of the upcoming game on Saturday.
