With time and patience, Aboubakar Ouattara will restore Hearts of Oak’s glory days – Frank Nelson
Former Board Member of Hearts of Oak, Frank Nelson believes the head coach of the side, Aboubakar Ouattara can steer the side back to its glory days when he is given the needed support.
The Ivorian manager was appointed on a two-and-a-half-year deal midway through last season. He led the side to survive relegation.
Despite their poor start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season, Ouattara has led the side to the 6th position on the league log with 19 points after 12 games and are unbeaten in their last six games.
Speaking in an interview, the ex-board member lauded Ouattara’s extensive coaching experience, adding that he can propel the Phobian Club back to its glory days with the needed support.
“Aboubakar Ouattara has a lot of experience in terms of coaching. I have no doubts that he has what it takes to lead Hearts to glory days,” he told Asempa FM.
Acknowledging the challenges that come with managing a club of Hearts of Oak’s stature, the former board member emphasized the importance of giving the coach time to implement his vision and strategies.
“What we need is patience. If we give him the support, he can deliver for Hearts of Oak,” he added.
Meanwhile, Hearts of Oak will hope to continue their impressive away form when they travel to play their rivals, Asante Kotoko in the Matchday 13 games at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday with kick-off scheduled at 15:00 GMT.
