A sombre mood has settled over the Okaikwei North polling station after two Electoral Commission (EC) officials collapsed while on duty today.
Details are scant, but the development has raised concerns.
The officials have been at post since voting began at 7 am nationwide.
The health incident followed clashes between party supporters of the main political parties and police at the constituency collation centre.
According to eyewitnesses, the supporters attempted to force their way into the collation centre without accreditation cards.
They tried to sneak in by joining EC officials carrying ballot boxes.
But police intervened, using pepper spray to disperse the crowd, which unfortunately caused the two EC officials to pass out.
The officials were rushed to the Achimota Hospital for treatment.
