Black Stars management committee neglected team against Niger – Aziz Futa

Former Hearts of Oak management committee member Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa has claimed that the Black Stars management abandoned the team during their final 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The New Patriotic Party’s Nasara Coordinator stated that there was no member of the management committee or the GFA Executive Council present at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18.

Ghana ultimately lost 2-0 to Niger, ending their qualifying campaign on a disappointing note, marking their first defeat at the venue in 16 years.

Following the loss, the GFA announced that the Black Stars management committee had been dissolved, with reports suggesting that a new one would be formed.

In his analysis of why Ghana failed to qualify for the AFCON for the first time in 21 years, Futa pointed to the management committee as partially responsible for the team’s failure.

“The Black Stars Management Committee and ExCo have neglected the Black Stars,” he told Happy FM.

“In our final AFCON qualifier against Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium, not a single member was present.”

The GFA has yet to make a concrete decision regarding the future of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo.
