Attack on my team was not targeted – NDP’s Alhaji Frimpong
The Flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Alhaji Mohammed Frimpong, has clarified that the recent attack on his team by armed men was due to a resurgence of armed robbery in the area rather than a deliberate, planned assault.
The incident occurred on November 26, 2024, between Nsakaw and Wenchi in the Bono Region. Thanks to the swift intervention of a police patrol team, no member of Alhaji Frimpong’s team sustained injuries during the attack.
Alhaji Frimpong expressed confidence in the police to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure justice is served promptly.
“We have not had any feedback, but what we know is that there was a previous robbery around the same municipality on Monday, November 25. Ours followed on November 26, then there was another one on November 27.
“So, it appears as if there is some kind of resurgence in armed robbery in the area. We did discuss this with the Regional Commander and we are yet to receive any feedback. I thought it was a direct attack on me, but I later discarded that. We just had the misfortune of entering into their (robbers) barricade,” he stated.
