Special voting for the 2024 elections has commenced in all regions, excluding the Eastern and Western regions.

About 131,478 voters, representing 0.007 per cent of the total registered voters of 18,741,159, are expected to take part in the exercise today.

The voting started at 7.00 am and is expected to end at 5:00 pm, as indicated by the Electoral Commission earlier.

Despite some voters complaining of their missing names in the voters’ register, the EC said the voting process has been very smooth and peaceful.

The special voting exercise is typically organised for individuals assigned to election-related duties on the main polling day on December 7.

It includes personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces, National Intelligence Bureau (NIB), National Security, Ghana Immigration Service, Ghana National Fire Service, and Information Services Department.

Additionally, it includes members of the National Ambulance Service, Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Prisons Service, Ghana Journalists Association, Ghana Police Service, and the National Media Commission.

The results of the special voting will not be declared until after the general elections.
