‘I want to build a disciplined and cohesive Black Stars team’ – Otto Addo tells GFA
Ghana head coach Otto Addo has shared his ambitious plan to create a disciplined and united squad.
This vision was presented during a meeting with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council on November 27, 2024.
In a statement released by the GFA on Friday, the meeting was described as “open and candid,” where Addo delivered a comprehensive 56-page technical report that analysed the team’s failure to qualify for the AFCON 2025.
A portion of the GFA statement said, “He went on to outline key areas that needed enhancement going forward. He indicated that he intends to build a strong and cohesive system that fosters discipline, accountability, and trust among players and the backroom staff while emphasising a clear and recognisable playing philosophy.”
In response to Addo’s presentation, opinions within the council were divided; some members called for his dismissal, while others advocated for his retention.
The GFA committed to collaborating with key stakeholders to devise a comprehensive strategy aimed at restoring the team’s former success.
