Member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has strongly refuted claims in a viral video on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), suggesting he has endorsed John Mahama, the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The video, shared on November 28, 2024, by a user named Political Warden (khkayy27), depicts Mr. Boamah allegedly promoting a “skirt and blouse” voting strategy—encouraging voters to re-elect him as MP while supporting Mahama in the December 7 elections.
However, Mr. Boamah has labelled the video as a deceptive creation using AI technology.
In a statement issued on Friday, November 29, Mr. Boamah dismissed the video as false, asserting that it features manipulated voiceovers.
He believes the circulation of the video is a deliberate act of propaganda aimed at damaging his image.
“I urge Ghanaians to ignore this malicious AI-generated video and the propaganda associated with it. It is designed to mislead the public and create unnecessary division,” he stated.
So some NPP MPs are preaching skirt and blouse. I just saw this video somewhere.
