Aduana Stars shortlists three coaches for vacant coaching job

Ghana Premier League club, Aduana Stars, has shortlisted three candidates for the vacant head coaching position.

This decision follows the sacking of coach Yaw Acheampong due to a series of poor results in the ongoing season, recording only two wins, six draws, and four losses.

Acheampong’s departure was solidified after a 2-0 home defeat to Asante Kotoko on matchday 12.

A well-taken free-kick from defender Patrick Asiedu and sensational attacker Albert Amoah was enough for the Porcupine Warriors to snatch maximum points.

Aduana Stars struggled to find their rhythm under Yaw Acheampong, losing four games, drawing six and winning just two games.

With 12 points, the Fire Boys are currently in 13th position on the domestic top-flight standings after 12 matches into the campaign.

Following Acheampong’s exit, the leadership of Aduana Stars has shortlisted three coaches (two local and one foreign coach) as possible replacements.

Meanwhile, Aduana Stars is likely to settle on a home-based coach for the vacant coaching position.

Evans Oppong, the communications director of Aduana Stars, stated that the club will make a decision soon.

“We are considering three coaches. Two locals and one foreign but it is likely we will go in for a local coach. We will name a new coach within this week,” he said.
