Aduana win has nothing to do with tactics – Ogum
Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum credited his team’s self-belief and determination for their victory over Aduana Stars at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park on Sunday.
Speaking after the game, Coach Ogum dismissed the idea that tactics played a significant role in their hard-fought 1-0 win in Dormaa, a location known for its challenging atmosphere.
He emphasized that the key factor in their success was the mental strength of his players. “It’s about self-confidence and determination.
Playing in Dormaa has little to do with tactics; it’s about the team’s confidence, their determination, and their aggression.
I believe it also involves the calmness of the team,” Coach Ogum stated. He further highlighted the composed approach of his players, noting that aggression would have been counterproductive in such a high-pressure environment.
“If you look at the way we played, we were very calm. I know this venue can be aggressive, and if you come in with an aggressive mindset, it wouldn’t help,” he added.
The victory ended the Porcupine Warriors’ four-game winless streak in the Ghana Premier League, providing a morale boost as they prepare for upcoming matches.
With this renewed confidence, Coach Ogum and his team aim to maintain momentum in their pursuit of success this season.
