I was angry after Obrafour released ‘Kasiebo’ song – Okyeame Kwame
Renowned Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has opened up on how he initially felt after his colleague Obrafour released a diss track against him in 2017.
He told Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, November 14, 2024 that he was furious and had considered responding to Obrafour’s ‘Kasiebo’ diss song.
However, with the intervention of his wife and some of lecturers, he rescinded from replying Obrafour.
“I was angry at that time; I got very angry… I wanted to react, but Professor Asante, who was my academic teacher at the time, and my wife stopped me. I had already written books on diss songs. I wanted to take the same beat used in Kasiebo and diss him back,” he said.
Okyeame Kwame thanked his mentors and wife for keeping him out of the feud.
He admitted that if he had answered, he would have lost both his friendship and his respect.
“My wife said I hadn’t done a song about Nkrumah or about God, so I shouldn’t be doing a song about him,” he added. “Among all the things I have done in my life, the only thing I am grateful for is not insulting him back. Because I would have lost my respect and a friend,” he added.
Obrafour released Kasiebo in 2017, featuring rapper Guru.
After the song was released, it sparked conversation in the industry with many music enthusiasts expecting a reply from Okyeame Kwame.
