“Only Bad Boys Approach Us – Gloria Sarfo on Single Actresses’ Relationship Struggles”
Ghanaian actress Gloria Sarfo has spoken openly about the challenges single female celebrities face when it comes to finding serious, committed partners.
In an interview on Accra FM with media personality Nana Romeo, Sarfo addressed the stigma surrounding single actresses in Ghana, as some critics claim these women are not interested in marriage or settling down.
However, Sarfo refuted this, explaining that most actresses, herself included, desire committed relationships and are deeply loyal when they find the right person.
Sarfo shared a personal story of a previous relationship that was headed toward marriage.
Unfortunately, her partner’s public comments led to heightened scrutiny from the public and the media, which eventually put a strain on the relationship.
This experience prompted Sarfo to adopt a more private approach to her love life, as she now prefers to keep her relationships away from the public eye.
If she were to marry, she stated, it would be a private affair without public knowledge.
The actress also highlighted a recurring issue she and her colleagues face: the men who approach them are often not looking for long-term commitment.
According to Sarfo, it’s typically “bad boys” who dare to approach actresses, but they lack serious intentions and often just seek short-lived flings.
“In as much as we all want to get married, it is unfortunate that most men who approach us are ‘bad boys.’ They’re only interested in hit-and-run affairs,” she explained, expressing frustration over the difficulty in meeting men who truly value commitment.
Sarfo went on to emphasize that being a public figure presents unique dating challenges.
Many men are intimidated by the success and visibility of actresses, which further narrows the pool of genuinely interested partners. She believes this is why many actresses remain single despite their desire to settle down.
Gloria Sarfo’s candid comments shed light on the lesser-seen struggles that come with balancing a public career and a private love life.
For many single actresses, finding a partner who respects their career and is willing to build a future together remains an ongoing challenge.
