‘I’m worried, my players are worried’ – Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum admits after back-to-back defeats

Asante Kotoko’s head coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, has voiced his concerns over the team’s recent poor performance in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.

The Porcupine Warriors are currently enduring a rough patch, having failed to secure a win in their last three matches, including back-to-back defeats in their most recent outings.

Ahead of their Week 10 fixture against Bechem United, Coach Ogum opened up about the anxiety felt by the entire team. Speaking to Kotoko’s media team, he shared the prevailing mood in the camp, admitting that both the technical staff and players are deeply troubled by the slump in form.

“I’m worried, very concerned about it [our form]. The whole technical team, the players—everybody is worried, and nobody is happy about this situation. We started the league well, so we didn’t anticipate we would face such a challenge,” Coach Ogum said.

He acknowledged the disappointment of the fans, who had high hopes following Kotoko’s promising start to the season.

“We all feel, especially me, the pain and emotions of the fans. They expected more from us, and we were delivering before things took a downturn,” he added.

Despite the current struggles, the Kotoko coach reassured supporters that the team is working tirelessly to turn things around.

“We want to assure them that we are putting the house together. We are regrouping, and we will ensure that we bounce back stronger and play beautifully,” Coach Ogum said confidently.

Asante Kotoko will be aiming for redemption this weekend as they prepare to face a tough opponent in Bechem United.

The much-anticipated clash is set for Sunday, November 10, and fans are hoping for a strong response from the Porcupine Warriors to halt their recent losing streak.
