DJ Switch honoured with ‘Wall of Fame’ by TV3
At age 10, some children can only dream of attaining big things in future but for Erica Tandoh, popularly known as DJ Switch, she is living that dream.
Since winning the ultimate prize in TV3’s Talented Kidz last year, DJ Switch has been all over the place, performing on some of the biggest entertainment platforms including Ghana DJ Awards.
Just last week, she was one of the performers at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation’s Goalkeepers Summit in New York, USA, where she performed for a number of dignitaries including the President of France, Emmanuel Macron.
In recognition of her achivements, TV3 on whose platform DJ Switch was discovered, has put her on its Wall of Fame.
At a short ceremony on Thursday, October 5, at the TV3 premises to unveil the wall, the Head of Corporate Affairs for Media General, owners of TV3, Richard Ahiagble, said the gesture is to encourage other children to believe in themselves to compete favourably with their talents.
“DJ Switch was just a little girl who believed in herself and today, she is getting all the applause for her talent,” he said.
Presenting the Wall of Fame to DJ Switch, Head of Marketing, Doreen Plange, said the outfit is proud of her exploits within a short time.
“We are proud of you and the fact that you have taken Ghana to the world stage is amazing. On behalf of TV3 and Media General, we present to you a special wall of fame. We want you to know that we consider you a young global icon so continue to be an example to those you inspire,” he said.
In an interview with the Daily Graphic, DJ Switch expressed gratitude to TV3 and Media General for their love, support and professional guidance and entreated parents to support their children.
On her experience at Goalkeepers, she said, “I was surprised when my name came up as one of the guests. It was more than amazing performing at Goalkeepers 2018 and I was proud to raise the flag of Ghana high on such a prestigious stage,” she said.
