The charges come in response to alleged misconduct by Kotoko supporters during a recent Ghana  Premier League clash with Legon Cities FC at the University of Ghana Stadium.

According to the GFA, Kotoko’s fans reportedly threw objects onto the field of play during the match, an action deemed disruptive and against the governing body’s code of conduct.

The GFA’s Disciplinary Code is clear on maintaining order and ensuring that the sporting environment remains safe and respectful, free from any form of interference by fans.

In light of these accusations, Asante Kotoko has been given until Tuesday, November 5, 2024, to submit their response to the charges.

This deadline provides the club with a window to prepare its defence or accept responsibility, following which the GFA’s disciplinary committee will review the case and determine any potential sanctions or penalties.

As this investigation unfolds, it raises questions about crowd behaviour and the responsibility of clubs to manage their supporters.

With the Ghana Premier League placing increasing emphasis on fair play and a respectful atmosphere, this case serves as a reminder to both fans and clubs to uphold the integrity of the game.

Kumasi Asante Kotoko faces Heart of Lions next in the matchweek 9 fixture of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports Stadium.
