The Ghana Police Service and the Ghana Armed Forces have assured the public of their commitment to restoring peace and stability in Bawku and its surrounding areas, including the Bolgatanga-Walewale-Tamale highway.

In a press release on October 28, the security agencies announced that joint police and military teams have been deployed to manage tensions and ensure public safety, following the murder of at least eight persons.

The statement from the police emphasized that a security presence in Bawku is being enhanced by additional forces along the main highway from Bolgatanga to Tamale.

This deployment is designed to maintain security to facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles and manage traffic flow in the region.

By reinforcing their presence and implementing strategic measures, the police and military are working collaboratively to create a secure environment, ultimately aiming to restore stability and calm in the area.

This latest intervention reflects the agencies’ continuous monitoring and response strategy to manage unrest and safeguard public confidence in Ghana’s northern region.
