Ashanti Region clinch U15 Championship final spot with perfect group stage run
Ashanti Region booked their spot in the finals of the Elite Boys U15 Championship after securing a narrow 1-0 victory over Upper East Region, maintaining their perfect record in the group stage.
Nathaniel Owusu’s decisive goal brought Ashanti’s total to 12 points from four matches. Ashanti’s Abraham Dagadu was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) for his standout performance.
In another group match, Eastern Region grabbed their first win of the tournament, defeating Western Region 2-0. Goals from Kuma Desmond and Godlove Mensah sealed the victory, with Anim Kelvin earning the MVP award for his contributions to the Eastern Region’s success.
Meanwhile, in a reserves match, the Northern Region edged out the Volta Region in a thrilling 3-2 battle. Mutada Mohammed, Mohammed Ahmed, and Alli Haruna scored for Northern, while Michael Kubgadjor and Forgive Amedor netted for Volta. Mutada Mohammed’s stellar performance earned him the MVP award.
The championship is part of the FIFA Talent Development Scheme.
