I was attacked when I released ‘Wahala Dey’ – Epixode
Multiple award-winning reggae and dancehall artiste Theophilus Nii Arday Otoo better known as Epixode has revealed that he faced threats and attacks after releasing his hit song, “Wahala Dey.” in 2019.
The song, which tackles social issues and calls for change, has earned Epixode a reputation as a vocal advocate for social justice.
Produced by DreamJay, his delivery also depicts a shift from his usual dancehall groove to a more relaxed singing style.
Speaking on Channel One TV’s entertainment talk show ‘The Chat’, Epixode who was on the show to promote his new songs ‘’Nyash’ and ‘Chooboi’’ indicated that he received many attacks when he released ‘Wahala Dey’.
According to the ‘Atia’ hitmaker, “Oh, Yes, I was attacked when I released ‘Wahala Dey’… It’s good for musicians to talk about happenings in the country but It is dangerous”. He told Chris Kata who sat in for regular host Ekow Koomson.
