Kamaldeen Sulemana is now fit- Southampton Manager
Southampton Manager Russell Martin has declared Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana fit to be in Southampton’s main squad after a lengthy period out with injury.
Sulemana hasn’t featured in the 2024-2025 season after picking up an injury in preseason against lower league side Oxford United.
Martin provided the update as The Saints prepare to play against Leicester City on Saturday, October 19 at 14:00 GMT as action in the English Premier League resumes after the international break.
Sulemana’s return to action comes in the lead up to the league game where fellow Black Stars players Fatawu Issahaku and Jordan Ayew are in line to feature for Leicester City.
“I’m excited to have everyone back together for the first time in a couple of weeks. Everyone is pretty much as is. Kamaldeen (Sulemana) is fit now to be in the squad and Will Smallbone is back now in the squad, so a couple of positives for us.”
Sulemana joined Southampton from French Ligue 1 side Stade Rennes and has two goals in 18 appearances. Kamaldeen missed Ghana Black Stars 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Sudan that had Ghana draw goalless and lose 2-0 in a double header.
