Five Mpraeso Senior High School students arrested for allegedly gang-raping a 16-year-old female student have been discharged by the Nkawkaw District Court in the Eastern region.

The court presided over by His Worship Isaac Agyei, made this decision due to discrepancies between the police’s charge sheet and the case.

However, according to reports, the students were re-arrested by the police and are expected to appear before court again.

The incident, which occurred on the Mpreaso Senior High School campus on Sunday, October 13, 2024, has sent shockwaves through the community.

Meanwhile, a massive manhunt is underway in Kwahu South Municipality for the three other students from Mpraeso Senior High School, accused of participating in the alleged gang rape.

The trio is part of a group of eight suspects implicated in the incident.

The school management has pledged full cooperation with the investigation.

The victim, sharing her harrowing experience, recounted how she was approached by a male student while walking with a friend to buy food from the school’s canteen.

As the male student got closer, seven others joined, and her friend left.

According to her, she was not aware of the conversation between the suspects and her friend before departing.

She explained that subsequently, the eight students forcibly assaulted her sexually.

The victim has undergone medical checks and is seeking justice, stating, “I want the suspects to face the full rigour of the law.”

The headmaster of Mpreaso SHS, James Affadu, confirmed the incident and announced that the disciplinary committee had dismissed all eight suspects involved in the matter.
