A chilling incident has shaken Kwamo in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti region, where 20-year-old Samuel Obeng has brutally murdered his 8-year-old brother, Messiah Akomeah.
This gruesome act occurred on Sunday, October 13, 2024, after Sammy lured his younger brother into a dense bush and used a sharp knife to cut his brother’s head.
After the murder, Sammy returned home and confessed to his uncle, Kofi Appiah, claiming he was possessed by a spirit at the time.
Appiah revealed that Obeng has a history of marijuana use but never suspected that he was capable of such a horrific act.
Confirming the incident, the Assemblyman for Kwamo, Kuntu Blankson, said the community is in a state of utter shock.
He recounted how Sammy’s mother, a trader with three children, with Sammy as the eldest, followed by a girl, and Messiah as the last child, had sent her daughter to call Messiah to join them at the market but couldn’t find him.
After Sammy’s confession, he led the community members to where Messiah’s body was, and the decapitated body of the boy was conveyed to the mortuary.
Sammy has since been apprehended by the police to assist in investigations.
