A dreadful accident has claimed the life of one military officer attached to the 11 Mechanised Battalion in Bawku, while five others are in critical condition.
The fatal accident occurred on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, when the soldiers were returning to their camp after providing escort services for a government official.
The unfortunate incident occurred around Binduri in the Upper East Region.
According to eyewitness accounts, the military vehicle, with registration number 15 GA 04, was travelling from Bawku towards Bazua when it veered off the road and somersaulted multiple times.
One officer died on the spot, while five others sustained severe injuries.
The injured officers were quickly transported to the Bolgatanga Regional Hospital and the Tamale Teaching Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Armed Forces is yet to release an official statement on the death of the military officer.
