The Ghana Report Jobs Fair: Transform your life and society with your new skills — Rashida to beneficiaries
CEO of The Ghana Report and GCEO of I-ZAR Group, Ms. Rashida Saani, has encouraged beneficiaries of The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair rapid skills programme to use their newly acquired knowledge to impact lives and communities positively.
The two-week fair, which began on September 19, ended on Friday, October 4, at the Independence Square in Accra with a graduation ceremony for 3000 beneficiaries in rapid skills.
In her closing remarks, Ms. Saani, a renowned business mogul and the brain behind the job fair, congratulated the beneficiaries for their commitment and hard work in learning valuable skills that will open new opportunities and help them build a brighter future.
Speaking on her behalf, Mr. Adib Saani, the Coordinator of The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair, extended appreciation to the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) for their great support in making the fair a success, while emphasizing the importance of private-public partnerships in fighting the unemployment canker.
“This event has been about empowerment—equipping our youth with skills in CCTV installation, soap making, gate automation, hairdressing, and much more. I extend my heartfelt thanks to our partners, particularly the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), for making this fair possible. Your support has been crucial in creating opportunities for the youth of Ghana. The need for private-public partnerships is key,” he stressed.
He reiterated that The Ghana Report Jobs and Entrepreneurship Fair is part of The Ghana Report‘s continuous endeavour to address Ghana’s youth unemployment and, by extension, insecurity.
He also emphasised The Ghana Report’s commitment to providing avenues for opportunities and development.
“This is all part of our efforts aimed at addressing the unemployment canker. To our trainees: this is only the beginning. Take what you’ve learned and make a difference in your lives and your communities. This time, you will not go out chasing money. You have the skills, so you are able to attract money. We, at The Ghana Report, are committed to your future and will continue creating platforms for growth and opportunity,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Mr. Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, commended The Ghana Report and YEA for their collaboration towards such a life-changing and innovative opportunity for the youth.
He further congratulated the beneficiaries and encouraged them to make the best of their skills.
Out of the 2,328 trainees that successfully completed the two-week intensive training, 236 majored in makeup artistry, 288 in dressmaking, 125 in cosmetology, 256 in soap making, and 257 in baking.
127 others learned CCTV and DSTV installation, 117 learned digital skills, 35 learned electrical fence and gate automation, 35 learned solar panel installation, 30 learned innovative agriculture, and 49 learned local drink production.
Organised by The Ghana Report, a subsidiary of I-ZAR Group and winner of the Best News Portal of the Year and the Best Portal in Corporate Social Responsibilities at the 25th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards, The Ghana Report Jobs & Entrepreneurship Fair is a comprehensive platform designed to connect job seekers with employers and empower aspiring entrepreneurs with the tools, knowledge, and networks needed to succeed.
