Division One League: FA Vice President urges clubs to desist from hooliganism

Vice President of the Ghana Football Association, Mark Addo has urged Division One League clubs to desist from hooliganism this season.

The second-tier league commenced last week across the various centres as clubs battle it out for Premier League promotion slot.

Mark Addo, who doubles as the president of Koforidua Semper Fi was in attendance when his outfit defeated Inter Allies 1-0 to begin their 2024/25 Division One League Zone III campaign on a high note.

Ebenezer Kobia found the back of the net under one minute, giving Semper FI the perfect start to their season.

“I wish all the clubs good luck in the ongoing 2024/2025 Division One League season” he said.

Meanwhile, Mark Addo has urged the clubs not to engage in hooliganism to salvage the image of Ghana football.

“I will urge all clubs to desist from hooliganism this season. They should treat their opponent as brothers so we can have a season devoid of hooliganism” He told the media.

He continued, “The game of football is about fraternity, brotherhood and sisterhood and no need for hooliganism in anyway. Football fans should not encourage it. The competition should always be on the field and nothing else. This helps in uplifting the brand and also get sponsors for the game”

Koforidua Semper Fi will play their first home match next week at the Koforidua Sports Stadium, where they will face Great Olympics
