Stop disrupting traffic – Police warns Democracy Hub protesters

Source The Ghana Report

The Ghana Police Service has raised concerns over attempts by the Democracy Hub protestors to disrupt the flow of traffic and create obstacles for commuters and other road users.

In a press statement, the police urged the demonstrators to refrain from such actions.

“The Ghana Police Service has monitored attempts by the Democracy Hub demonstrators to frustrate and put impediments in the way of commuters and other road users.

“We are urging the demonstrators to desist from such uncivil, unpatriotic and unghanaian acts depicted in the images and videos and allow the general public to go about their businesses without any hindrance.”

To manage the situation, the Ghana Police Service has deployed additional officers across the city to ensure the smooth movement of traffic and maintain security, law, and order.

Meanwhile, the police have blocked major roads leading to the Jubilee House to prevent the demonstrators from proceeding further.

The demonstrators are currently gathered at the 37 Roundabout, defying police orders not to assemble, to march to the Jubilee House.

During a pre-briefing, one of the organisers, identified as Nii Ayi, cautioned protesters not to get close to the police and to surrender willingly if the police attempted to make arrests.
