Nsoatreman FC Coach defends squad rotation after Super Cup loss to FC Samartex
Following a narrow 1-0 defeat to Samartex in the Champion of Champions Cup, Nsoatreman FC head coach Yaw Preko staunchly defended his decision to rotate his squad.
Preko spoke with Max TV, explaining that the loss at TNA Stadium stemmed from strategic choices rather than a lack of effort.
He emphasized the importance of managing player fatigue during a demanding season.
Preko noted that his team competes in multiple tournaments this season, including the CAF Confederation Cup.
He expressed concern over the physical state of several players, indicating that fatigue influenced his lineup decisions.
“It’s a squad I want everybody to be part of because we are going to play the league, we’re going to play the FA Cup, we’re going to play the CAF and we need everybody too so I did a lot of changes in the first half.
“I see fatigue in majority of the boys so I had to patch up with some of the boys. So I’m okay with what I did.”
Nsoatreman FC now shifts focus to their upcoming matches, starting with a clash against Young Apostles FC in the Ghana Premier League’s 2024-2025 season opener this coming weekend.
Following that, the team will face Algerian side CS Constantine in the CAF Confederation Cup.
