Drogba testified on his own will; we didn’t force him – Christ Embassy pastor debunks clout chasing claims
The head pastor of the Christ Embassy Airport City Youth Church, Enock Boamah, has addressed the backlash and criticisms that followed the healing of Yolo actor John Peasah, known as ‘Drogba during last Friday’s night service.
A viral video on social media showed Drogba sharing testimony of his healing during the miracle service.
In the video, Drogba testified to receiving divine healing at the church’s crusade in Accra. He confirmed that he was able to do things he had been unable to do for the past four years.
This testimony sparked varied reactions online, with some netizens celebrating his healing while others criticised it.
Pastor Enoch Boamah addressed the criticisms during a Sunday service on September 1. He emphasized that Drogba had acknowledged feeling better on his own and made it clear that the church had not forced him to do so.
“The person said he feels better. We didn’t ask him; he said he feels better. Na me put that word for ein mouth? But his testimony is big than this; we will share it later. That testimony is one out of the hundreds of testimonies that happened to him that night. The testimony is bigger than this; I’ve told him to calm down. Devil can heal like this? And we no dey follow am? It doesn’t make any sense he stated.
Pastor Boamah also responded to accusations that he was using the situation for clout, saying, “Holy Spirit bears me witness that when we closed from the miracle service that Friday night, I told the media team not to post that testimony. I told them not to post it because I am not looking for clout.”
Pastor Boamah acknowledged God’s work in healing Drogba and stated that he’s not perturbed by the criticisms as it’s a testimony of God’s elevation of his life.
“If you follow my teaching on the sight of God, you’d know that God doesn’t count the way men count. If persecuted in a large way, its proof that God has actually elevated you. Jesus said the world hates you because they hate me.
“Comparing this to the persecution in the Bible, this is nothing. People were eaten alive by lions. What is this?” he said.
