Black Queens coach observes Princesses’ thrilling draw against South Korea

Black Queens head coach Nora Häuptle intently watched the Black Princesses’ thrilling 2-2 draw with South Korea in their second high-profile international friendly ahead of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Colombia.

The Black Princesses started on the back foot, conceding a penalty in the 15th minute after Comfort Yeboah’s foul in the box.

However, they quickly rallied, with Stella Nyamekye equalizing minutes later off a Wasiima Mohammed cross.

Coach Yussif Basigi made a tactical substitution after the break, bringing on Mafia Nyame for Asana Alhassan. The move paid off as Mafia Nyame’s partnership with Stella Nyamekye led to Jennifer Owusuwaa scoring to put Ghana ahead.

Unfortunately, Ghana conceded another penalty in the 71st minute, which South Korea converted to level the score at 2-2.

This match is part of the Princesses’ preparations for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, where they will face Austria, New Zealand, and Japan in Group E. The tournament kicks off in Colombia on August 31, 2024.
