The Ghana Education Service (GES) has commenced the 2024 school selection process for Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates.
The process, which started on Wednesday, August 28, will continue until September 4, 2024.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Acting Director of the Schools and Instruction Division, Mr Prince Agyemang-Duah.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to actively participate in the selection exercise to ensure a smooth placement process for their wards.
This year’s process allows about 570,461 candidates who sat for the BECE to choose from a range of Senior High Schools and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions.
Additionally, candidates will have the opportunity to select STEM subjects, including biomedical science, engineering science, and agriculture.
To ensure transparency and adherence to guidelines, officials from the GES headquarters will oversee the selection exercise nationwide.
Regional Directors of Education have been instructed to inform stakeholders about the selection process dates.
Candidates will also be able to confirm their school choices by texting a short code, details of which will be provided later.
