AFCON Qualifiers: Coach Otto Addo names 26 players for crucial tests
Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has unveiled a 26-man squad for the upcoming 2025 AFCON qualifiers against Angola and Niger, scheduled for early September.
The team, which last gathered in June for back-to-back wins in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, is expected to report for duty on September 2 to begin preparations.
The squad features familiar faces, including Thomas Partey, Kudus Mohammed, Jordan Ayew, and Lawrence Ati-Zigi, with Kingsley Schindler, Inaki Williams, and Majeed Ashimeru returning after missing the previous games.
Frederick Asare, the only home-based player, has also been included.
Notably, Captain Andre Ayew and Daniel Amartey have been omitted after missing the last two games.
The Black Stars will kick off their AFCON qualifying campaign against Angola on September 5 in Kumasi, followed by a match against Niger on September 10 in Berkane.
