Ten individuals suspected of engaging in landguard activities at Adjirigano, in Accra, have been arrested.
The suspects are Harry Otu Hesse, Khalid Adnam, Tahiru Yakubu, Awudu Salifu, Michael Laryea, Theophilus Mensah, Mustapha Awudu, Kwetey Aryettey, Salifu Moses, and Ibrahim Musah.
They were apprehended by the East Legon Police during a police operation on Wednesday, August 28, 2024.
The arrests followed a complaint lodged by Nuumo Borketey Laweh XXXIII, the Gborbu Wulomo, who is one of the landowners affected by the suspects’ alleged actions.
Police reports suggest these individuals were involved in harassing clients and disrupting construction work on property sold for development in the Adjirigano area.
They reportedly confiscated tools and obstructed workers hired to develop the land.
During the intelligence-led operation at Adjirigano, the police seized cutlasses and other materials from the suspects.
The ten individuals are currently in police custody, assisting with police investigations.
They will be put before a competent court of jurisdiction after the police conclude their investigations.
