Speeding cab kills two in Senya Bereku
A horrific accident has claimed the lives of two Okada riders at Awutu Bereku in the Central Region.
The incident happened on Sunday, August 25, 2024.
The riders, who were returning from the Senya Bereku Akomase Festival collided with a speeding taxi cab around 2 A.M. near the Gomoa Akoti Junction.
Information gathered indicates that the victims, a known okada operator and his in-law, had attended the festival to celebrate with the Awutu Senya West Constituency MP, Gizella Agbotui Tetteh, following a successful manifesto launch at the University of Education Winneba Campus.
Senya Beraku police have arrested the driver of the taxi cab and placed in police custody.
Meanwhile, the bodies of the deceased persons have been deposited at the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital for preservation, pending police investigation.
The Senya Bereku community in the Awutu Senya West District of the Central Region is celebrating their annual Akomase Festival, which has attracted many people from different parts of the country.
