Black Princesses draw goalless with Mexico in friendly

The Black Princesses of Ghana have drawn goalless with their counterparts from Mexico in an international friendly match ahead of the 2024 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The two U20 women’s national teams have both qualified for this year’s World Cup and are preparing to make a mark when the tournament starts in Colombia.

Today’s friendly match was played at Centro Deportivo Choquenza in Bogotá.

The Black Princesses had a slow start to the contest but strengthened as the game progressed.

Throughout the game, both teams had chances to score but neither side could equalize and had to settle for the stalemate at the end of the friendly exercise.

The Black Princesses played against the Mexico U-20 Women’s team ( El Tricolor) to keep in shape ahead of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup.

The friendly also provided a valuable opportunity for Coach Yussif Basigi to fine-tune his squad to be ready for the biennial competition in Colombia.

Mexico has qualified for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and is in Group A alongside host Colombia, Cameroon, and Australia.

The Black Princesses on the other hand are in Group E and will play against Austria, Japan, and New Zealand.
