Baba Rahman Scores in PAOK’s emphatic Europa League win

Ghanaian defender Baba Rahman put the icing on the cake for PAOK Thessaloniki FC in their dominant 4-0 victory over Shamrock Rovers in the UEFA Europa League final qualification round on Thursday night.

PAOK, who had a perfect record against Shamrock Rovers with two wins from two games, controlled the match at Stadio Toumbas with superior possession and shots. The hosts took the lead just before the halftime whistle through an own goal by Daniel Cleary in the 45+5 minute.

The second half saw PAOK extend their lead with a goal from Taison in the 48th minute, followed by a red card for Shamrock Rovers’ Joshua Honohan five minutes later. Giannis Konstantelias made it 3-0 in the 68th minute, assisted by Taison.

Baba Rahman, who played the full 90 minutes, rounded off the scoring in the 90+4 minute with a left-footed shot that found the top corner. PAOK will next focus on their league game against Panetolikos on August 25.
