This is the reason for Lenny Akpadie’s fight against some gospel musicians

Renowned Ghanaian gospel artiste, Apostle Lenny Akpadie, has stated emphatically that it is biblically wrong for gospel artistes to allow secular artistes to write songs for them.

According to him, gospel artistes must allow themselves to be guided by the Holy Spirit to be able to write spirit-filled songs.

He added that he will never give a chance to any artiste to write his songs since he is guided by the Holy Spirit.

He also condemned the decision of some of his colleagues who requested secular artistes to write their songs for them.

“Those gospel musicians missed it. You can’t write me a song; where is the Holy Spirit? You see, it’s defilement. The Holy Ghost is our teacher, and I receive songs from the Holy Ghost,” he noted in an interview monitored by The Ghana Report on Joy Prime.

In justifying his stance, ‘You are the most high God’ hitmaker said since Jesus is the central point of Christianity, any other that departs from him, is not Christian.

For him, any Christian who sings a secular song has strayed.

“You have strayed big time. The standard is set by God, and He says there’s no union between light and darkness”.

Some popular secular musicians including Kuami Eugene and Kwabena Kwabena have written songs for gospel artistes.

For instance, Ohemaa Mercy’s ‘Ote Me Mu’ and Joyce Blessing’s ‘Victory’ were written by Kwabena Kwabena and Kuami Eugene respectively.
