Ogum lauds Kotoko’s quality and squad depth ahead of 2024/25 season
Asante Kotoko coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed his excitement about the quality and squad depth at his disposal ahead of the new 2024/25 Ghana football season.
The Porcupine Warriors have improved their squad ahead of the new football season with the addition of over 10 players after parting ways with 21 players.
Speaking after his side’s 2-1 defeat against Medeama SC in a pre-season friendly over the weekend at the T&N Park said, “There is so much quality in the team. We have to make sure that we give them the courage and confidence to be able to express themselves anytime we give them the opportunity.
“So, the quality is there, there is depth in the team, and it is good for Kumasi Asante Kotoko,” he added.
Medeama scored through Kofi Babil and Prosper Boakye in the 21st and 89th minutes respectively, while Kotoko’s Bernard Somuah scored in the 62nd minute.
Asante Kotoko are hoping to challenge for trophies next season after a torrid campaign finishing 6th with 49 points during the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors will open their campaign with an away trip against Karela United at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
