Lawrence Ati-Zigi preaches against racism in world football
Ghana international Lawrence Ati-Zigi is preaching against racism in world football as efforts in getting rid of it has proved futile.
Despite the various campaigns against racism by FIFA and other football governing bodies, racism has grown in stature.
Players around the globe particularly Europe have been racially abuse with Romelu Lukaku, Vinicius Jnr and some Ghanaian players being a victim.
However, the Black Stars goalkeeper, who currently plies his trade for St Gallen has taken it upon himself to campaign against the cancer.
“SAY NO TO RACISM. #Message is clear” he wrote on Instagram, sighted by Footballghana.com.
Ati-Zigi has been instrumental for St Gallen since joining the club in 2020. He has extended his stay at the club until 2027.
The 27-year-old Ghanaian shot stopper is currently the first choice goalkeeper for the Black Stars. He has won his position back after losing it to Richard Ofori during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The goalkeeper has made 23 appearances for the Black Stars since his debut in June 2018.
