Arsenal open to selling Ghana midfielder Thomas Partey – Reports

Arsenal are open to selling Thomas Partey this summer according to the Times Sports.

The Ghana international’s future at the Emirates Stadium is currently uncertain due to his injury problem.

The 31-year-old only made a total of 16 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners last campaign.

And with just a year left on his contract, the club are open to selling Partey to make room for Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad.

Mikel Arteta’s side are expected to pay £29.8m to sign the Spanish midfielder.

Thomas Partey was strongly linked away from the club last summer with Juventus and Saudi Pro League clubs expressing interest in the midfielder but the deal did not materialize.

Partey, however, featured in Arsenal’s 2-0 win against Wolves on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium in their Premier League opener with Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka scoring in each half.

Since joining Arsenal from Atletico Madrid on 5th, October 2020 in a deal worth £45 million, Partey has made a total of 115 appearances, scoring five times for the London-based side.
