Medeama SC inaugurated the TnA Stadium in style, defeating Asante Kotoko 2-1 in a thrilling friendly match.
The sold-out crowd, including Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif and GFA President Kurt Okraku, witnessed a memorable victory for the home team.
Kotoko dominated early, but Medeama took the lead through Nana Kofi Babil’s goal in the 20th minute.
Despite a missed penalty by Diawisie Taylor, Medeama held on until Kotoko equalized in the 64th minute through Bernard Somuah.
Just as a draw seemed likely, Prosper Boakye scored the winner in the 89th minute, sending the crowd into ecstasy.
This marks a perfect start for Medeama at their new home, while Kotoko will regroup before the league season begins on September 6th.
The state-of-the-art TnA Stadium promises to be a formidable venue for Medeama in the Ghana Premier League.
