20-year-old Kwame Philip has been arrested by the Nkawkaw police for stealing fenders and metal road signs from the Nkawkaw to Obomeng road.
As a result of this act, some chiefs and elders of Kwawu Obomeng are outraged.
They explained that Kwame Philip’s actions have made the already pothole-ridden road even more hazardous.
Speaking on behalf of Nana Effah Openamang III, the Benkum Hene of Kwawu Obomeng the Nana Osei Kissi, urged both the Nkawkaw Police and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to enforce the law and ensure that Philip is prosecuted.
Nana Kissi also expressed concerns about the prevalence of thieves among scrap dealers, who often hide under the guise of metal collection to commit crimes.
He further appealed to the IGP and Nkawkaw Police to address the issue by dismantling scrap dealers operating at the Nkawkaw train station near Liberty Church, a known hotspot for armed robberies.
