The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has suspended two of its executives in the Suhum Constituency for allegedly engaging in anti-party activities.
The two are Samuel Baah, the Constituency Communication Officer, and Alhaji Bala Abubakar, the Deputy Constituency Nassara Coordinator.
In a statement signed by Constituency Secretary Stephen A. Odame, on Tuesday, August 13, the party said the executives were found guilty of breaching the party’s constitution through their actions, which were deemed divisive and anti-party.
The Constituency Executive Committee (CEC) cited several misconducts, including campaigning against the party’s parliamentary candidate, Frank Asiedu Bekoe, organising processions with anti-party messages and presenting a petition to the incumbent MP Kwadjo Asante who lost the primaries to contest as an independent candidate.
These actions were deemed to be in breach of Articles 3(9)(1) and 3(5)(a)(2) and (4) of the NPP Constitution, resulting in the forfeiture of their membership and suspension from their positions.
The party has emphasised that discipline and unity are paramount ahead of the 2024 elections, warning that similar conduct will not be tolerated.
Below is a statement announcing their suspension.
