Man who allegedly killed his mother and sister arrested after confession

A young man has been busted by the police after he confessed to killing his 50-year-old biological mother, and mentally unstable sister.

The young man, who is the youngest, attacked the mother after accusing her of being a witch.

Lawson is said to have hit the mother on the head with a concrete block while in her sleep and also attacked the sister after she had witnessed him killing their mother.

The incident occurred at Chiraa Nshiayem in the Bono Region on July 30, 2024.

It will be recalled that several reports indicated the gruesome murder of Ama Banawa, a 60-year-old Pito seller, and her daughter a week ago.

The bereaved family, as part of rituals, took the stained dresses of the two to a riverside and invoked curses on the one who allegedly killed them.

A week after the incident, Lawson confessed to killing his mother and sister.

The suspect confessed to the crime for the reason that his mother had stolen his destiny and given it to his sister.

According to Lawson, he had fought the mother spiritually but was unsuccessful; hence, he decided to use physical means by killing her.

Unfortunately for him, while in the act, his sister witnessed the incident, and so he allegedly smashed her head too with the block to prevent her from revealing the secret.

Lawson’s case has currently been processed for court.
