A fuel tanker has overturned on the Cape Coast -Takoradi highway about 100 meters before the UCC east gate spilling its content on the highway.

The unfortunate incident occurred on the evening of Sunday, July 28.

It is unclear what caused the truck pod to fall on its side.

The spillage made that part of the stretch slippery, threatening pedestrians and motorists.

The incident, though dangerous, appeared to be a fortune for some individuals as they were seen risking their lives collecting the spilt fuel with gallons.

Emergency services were quickly dispatched to the scene.
