Some residents of Domeabra and Danchira in the Ga South Municipality clashed with police officers who reportedly visited the community to evict the occupants of a parcel of land under dispute.
In their attempt to stop the police, the angry residents blocked the road to prevent the law enforcement officers from leaving the community.
This forced the police to fire gunshots to disperse the crowd.
Speaking to the media, some of the residents alleged that the police came with land guards to evict them on the orders of a man they only identified as Asare.
According to a chief at Domeabra, Nii Ashaley, Asare is claiming the Danchira community and extending it to Domeabra without a court order.
Meanwhile, the assemblyman for Danchira Electoral Area, Ebenezer Ahotor, condemned the act and called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to intervene to avoid bloodshed.
Domeabra has been in the news for various reasons.
Some residents chopped off the ear of a 17-year-old suspected robber following a failed robbery attempt on June 23.

Joel Nyarko was allegedly in the company of other accomplices in an attempt to rob a vehicle.
His accomplices managed to flee the scene but luck ran out on him and the residents apprehended him.
They beat him to a pulp and cut off his right ear in the process.
He was then carried in a wheelbarrow and dropped at the roadside of the community.
He was, however, saved when police officers from the Amanfrom District Police Command intervened before the angry residents lynched him.
