Kofi Kyereh leaves Freiburg camp after reoccurring knee problems
Ghana international Daniel Kofi Kyereh has left Freiburg’s pre-season training camp after suffering problems with his knee.
After a year and half out with an anterior cruciate ligament injury, the midfielder had been training with the Bundesliga side ahead of the 2024/25 season.
However, the Ghanaian had had to leave camp following reoccurring problems with his knee in recent training sessions.
Kofi Kyereh is expected to undergo a surgical procedure to assess the extent of the recent injury. The assessment would necessitate further treatment if necessary.
The 28-year-old missed the whole of the 2023/24 season due to the injury despite optimism of a late return in the campaign.
He joined Freiburg in July 2022 and featured in 12 appearances during his maiden season with the club which also saw him record two goals.
At the national team, Kyereh has not played since featuring at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
