Spain to pocket $30 million in prize money for winning 2024 Euros

Spain has made history by winning the 2024 European Championship, becoming the European nation with the most Euros titles (four).

They secured their latest triumph in the 2024 Euros held in Germany, defeating England 2-1 at the Berlin Olympic Stadium with goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Nico Williams.

By sweeping all three group stage games and emerging victorious in the subsequent rounds (Round of 16, Quarterfinal, Semifinal, and Final), Spain takes home a whopping $30.7 million in prize money.

According to UEFA, each participating nation was guaranteed $10.1 million, with additional payouts for wins and draws in the group stage ($1.1 million and $543,348 respectively).

The knockout stages saw increasing payouts, with $1.6 million for a Round of 16 win, $2.7 million for a Quarterfinal win, $4.3 million for a Semifinal win, and a final $8.7 million for the championship win.

On the part of the Three Lions, Gareth Southgate’s men drew twice and beat Serbia 1-0 in Group C and lost in the final but got rewarded with a sum of $5.4 million after losing to Spain.

England walk away from the 2024 Euros with a silver medal and $26,286,696 in prize money. In comparison, Cote D’Ivoire won the 2023 AFCON and bagged $7 million in prize money while Qatar won the 2023 Asian Cup and walked away with $5 million in prize money.
