Timber truck crushes taxi cab at Obuasi

A MAN diesel articulated truck with registration number GR 2714-X has crushed a taxi cab at Obuasi Amangoase in the Ashanti region.

The incident happened today, July 5, 2024.

The truck driver, Musah Fuseini, 32, was transporting logs from Fenaso to Domeabra, both suburbs of Obuasi.

The Toyota Corolla taxi cab, with registration number GW 5088-11, was moving too close behind the truck in the same direction.

Upon reaching a section of the road at Amangoase, the truck driver lost control; the vehicle reversed and crashed into the taxi.

The taxi driver, Bernard Nsiah, managed to swerve, and fortunately, all passengers escaped unhurt.

However, parts of the car were damaged.

This incident comes after two persons were burnt to ashes in a head-on collision involving two motorcycles. Two others were also left in critical condition in the same crash at Offinso Kwaagyekrom near Offinso Anyinasuso in the Ashanti Region.

The accident happened on Tuesday, July 2, 2024.

According to eyewitnesses, Abu, 47, and Aminu, 20, died on the spot after the motorbikes collided.

The unit committee chairman for the area, Moro Abdulai, confirmed the incident.
