The CAF Disciplinary Board has delivered its verdict in the case involving Samuel Eto’o, President of FECAFOOT.

Eto’o faced allegations of match-fixing and ethical violations.

Following a thorough review of the evidence, the board found insufficient proof to convict Eto’o and Valentin Nkwain of match manipulation.

However, Eto’o was found guilty of violating CAF’s ethical principles by promoting 1XBET and receiving payment, in breach of Article 2, paragraph 3 of the CAF Statutes.

The violation resulted in a $200,000 fine.

This decision demonstrates CAF’s commitment to maintaining ethical standards in African football, serving as a reminder to football officials and stakeholders of the importance of upholding these principles.
